Paul Ryan O’Connor was born in Los Angeles, California, and grew up adjacent to the movie business, developing an obsession with Universal horror movies and hard boiled detectives. Paul had family members and best friends working before and behind the lights, but it was video games where Paul plied his trade for decades, designing and directing for companies like Amazon, Capcom, Activision, and Electronic Arts. He is a frequent contributor to Ellery Queen’s Mystery Magazine, where his work has won multiple Readers Choice Awards, and been selected for inclusion in The Best Private Eye Stories of The Year. He is an experienced podcast guest and conference speaker. His first novel -- Gumshoe Frankenstein -- is coming from White City Press in 2027. Paul is an active member of the Mystery Writers of America, where he has served as an Edgar® judge. He lives in Carlsbad, California.
